2nd World Congress on Electroporation 13 Oct 2017
Celabor participated in the 2nd World Congress on Electroporation held in Norfolk (VA, USA) in late September 2017 as a full member of the International Society for Electroporation-Based Technologies and Treatments (ISEBTT).
Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) processing is one of the key technologies in this area. Its field of application is very wide including Biology, Medicine, Food, and Environment. Celabor is currently developing this technology within the framework of a Beware program. The project aims at proving the feasibility to intensify “green” extraction technologies from natural raw materials.
The meeting attracted 364 attendees from all over the world representing 32 countries and 5 continents. From the opening reception held on a perfect Sunday evening on rooftop patios to the closing ceremony all agreed that the meeting fulfilled all expectations. The program was diverse and included over 340 outstanding presentations showing state-of-the-art applications in this field. There were excellent interactions during the sessions as well as during the breaks.
This is one of the actions promoted by the ISEBTT to encourage the advancement of scientific knowledge of the interactions of pulsed electric and electromagnetic fields, and ionized gases with biological systems (cells, tissues, organisms, molecules and materials), with an emphasis on electroporation, and to facilitate the development of applications based on these phenomena in biology, medicine, biotechnology, food and environmental technologies
