Subcritical Water

Food nutrient extraction can also benefit from the qualities of Subcritical Water.

Alongside the processes of extracting chemicals from materials, Subcritical Water can also be used to remove nutrients from food products. Within the CELABOR laboratories, the technology is in place to extract natural substances and minerals by using pressurised water at a temperature between 100°C and 374°C. For research purposes, CELABOR scientists can also be commissioned to investigate the contents of certain food items, and Subcritical Water has a large role to play in this process. When a high quantity of a certain antioxidant is found in an item, using terms such as ‘super rich’ and ‘super food’ would be justified.
