Replacing traditional solvents by pressurized ones has several advantages.  For example, for the extraction of hydrocarbons, supercritical CO2 is particularly suited for the work at hand.  As different components become solvable at different pressures, it is easier to target specific chemicals to extract for analysis.  The separation of the solvent and the extracted materials is particularly easy as you only have to depressurize the solution and let the CO2 evaporate.  Being used at lower temperatures than steam distillation, it also allows the extraction of heat sensitive materials.  All of these advantages, in addition to being environmentally friendlier and inherently safer than other extraction techniques, make supercritical CO2 extraction an necessary tool amongst the analysis techniques available.  This is why has invested into an extractor driven by supercritical CO2 and by pressurised hot solvent and puts this analysis tool at disposal of its clients.
